The demand for rare earth permanent magnets was good, and the export volume remained at a high level in May

Published:2022/06/21

The analysis of customs statistics shows that the monthly export volume of China's rare earth permanent magnets has increased year by year, with a slight downward trend. In the past two years, the growth rate has increased again, and the overseas demand has increased steadily.

In january2022, China's rare earth permanent magnet export volume reached a new record and then fluctuated. By may2022, China's exports of rare earth permanent magnets have risen to a high level, and its exports to the United States have also remained at a high level, that is, more than 600 tons.

Specifically, in May 2022, China's exports of rare earth permanent magnets reached 4876 tons, a year-on-year increase of 15.6%, with continuous growth but a decrease in the range; The export volume to the United States was 626.5 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.8%.

The trend analysis shows that China's exports of rare earth permanent magnets to the United States fluctuated upward. During this period, due to the phased impact of the epidemic and trade friction, they rose (increased) and fell (decreased), but the general trend showed a large increase.

The trend of export amount is the same, and the growth rate is larger relative to the export volume. In May, 2022, the export volume was 1.45 times that of 2019, while the export amount was 2.65 times that of 2019, 1.2 times higher than that of 2019.

To a large extent, the current demand is large, and even the supply exceeds the demand, so the price rises sharply.
