In April, China's rare earth export volume and price rose simultaneously

The latest statistical data analysis released by the General Administration of Customs of China shows that in April 2022, China's rare earth export volume and price rose simultaneously, the export volume was at a high value, and the average export price hit a new high in recent years.

Specifically, in April 2022, China's rare earth export volume was 4427 tons, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%. The data analysis of the average monthly export price shows that the average export price in April hit a new high of nearly 8 years, namely US $24.7/kg, which is 2-4 times of the average monthly price in the past (at least 10 years).

In addition, in the first four months of 2022, China exported 17107.2 tons of rare earths, an increase of 9.4% over 15642.3 tons last year; The export value was US $191.6 million, a year-on-year increase of 84.5%.

The analysis of export volume data in April nearly four years ago shows that China's rare earth export volume has increased steadily, and the average export price has increased steadily and sharply.

In 2022, both export volume and average export price reached a new high in recent four years. Among them, around 2019, due to trade friction and COVID-19, the export volume slightly fluctuated abnormally.
