Why does the used NdFeB rust?

Published:2021/10/09

We can see very little neodymium iron boron in life, but we use it unconsciously. This kind of material is used more in the industrial field. This is a bit like the magnet used in our life. They are all magnetic materials. Sintered NdFeB, as the third generation rare earth permanent magnet material, has strong magnetic properties and is known as the magneto king in the industry.

Neodymium iron boron will be electroplated before delivery by the manufacturer and will not rust normally, but some neodymium iron boron will rust after a long time of use. Why?

1. The electroplating process has problems or the electroplating time is insufficient

2. NdFeB did not clean the dirt on the surface before electroplating

3. Nd-Fe-B magnetic steel has been stored in humid places with large temperature difference

Zhaobao magnet, a 30-year-old permanent magnet manufacturer, is welcome to contact custom magnets. Our magnets can pass the salt spray test for 12h, 24h, 36h, 48h, 96h or even longer
