When measuring the magnetism of the magnet meter with a Gauss meter, should it be measured on both sides?

Published:2022/05/20

Generally, Gauss meter and fluxmeter can be used to measure the surface magnetic field strength of magnet. When judging the performance of magnet in this way, do you need to test both S pole and N pole once?

Usually, if the customer requires, our company can attach a test report with the goods. The Gauss values of S pole and N pole are usually tested in the report. Although there are errors in their data, they are usually within tens of Gauss, which belongs to normal tolerance.

For example, for a D3 * 0.9mm disc NdFeB magnet, the measured data of N pole and S pole are about 2150 Gauss.

In fact, the real performance of N pole and S pole of magnet should be exactly the same without deviation. Of course, there will be errors due to test methods, instruments and other reasons. Usually, the customer only requires the magnet to reach a certain Gaussian value in the drawing, and will not specify how much a pole needs to reach, because it is of little significance.

As a strong magnetic manufacturer of Nd-Fe-B, our company is mainly engaged in all kinds of precision magnets, ultra-thin magnets, motor multipole magnetic rings. You are welcome to consult at any time.
