Are there any ultra-thin magnets with strong suction?

Published:2022/05/09

Ultra thin magnets generally refer to magnets with a thickness of less than 1mm. They are generally in two shapes: circular and rectangular, which are mainly easier to process. I saw some netizens ask whether ultra-thin magnets have strong suction? Let's talk about our views.

Are there any ultra-thin magnets with strong suction?

Generally, the suction of ultra-thin magnets is not too strong. No matter what kind of material, the thickness determines its suction (tension). The thickness of magnets is directly proportional to the suction. Once the thickness is thin, the suction is greatly reduced, and it is easy to break and crack. If you want ultra-thin magnets with strong suction, it is recommended to choose neodymium iron boron material. At present, the strongest magnet material has a magnetic field strength of 500-1500 Gauss.

The following lists the tensile force of some ultra-thin circular magnets with a thickness of less than 1mm (for reference only):

N42, D3x0.5mm neodymium magnet is about 75g;

N42, D4x0.5mm neodymium magnet is about 90g;

N42, D10x0.4mm neodymium magnet is about 150g;

N42, D15x0.5mm neodymium magnet is about 280g.

Note: ultra thin magnets need to be handled carefully to avoid direct attraction and collision. They are easy to crack and damage. The larger the size of the magnet is, the thicker the thickness is, the stronger the magnetic force is. 1mm thick magnets are suitable for fixing light and small items and not suitable for loading.
